In 2018, MPI made an excellent move with the acquisition of Aubia: its most formidable competitor in the market. Aubia had made a flying start all the way back in 1992 and with such a long history, its roots were deeply seeded in the Walloon market. Approaching them was a straightforward proposition: their impressive technical background made Aubia the perfect opportunity for MPI to gain a presence in Wallonia overnight.
Combined with Belgium’s multilingual nature, this ensured MPI’s success in mapping the needs of the Walloon market. This is something that Aubia is now able to capitalise on effortlessly as the exact mirror image of MPI, except with undivided attention for the Walloon market and needs. After all, the one-stop shop story continues on the Flemish side of the lingual barrier as well, with an active role in various industries: road and waterway construction, sanitary heating, rental companies, agriculture, irrigation contractors, soil boring and DIY.
Reinier Teunissen's company, MPI Pumps from Arendonk, has acquired its industry peer Aubia Pumps to propel the Group into the top-three dealers in the Benelux.
Aubia, a pump specialist operating from Ghislenghien, was acquired by MPI Pumps & Irrigation (Pareco Group) on 1 February and was renamed Aubia Group MPI.
