FUNCTIONAL PRINCIPLE The water softener ensures consistently good waterquality and removes hardness from the water. No chemicals, additives or additional technical equipment are required, just commercially available regeneration salt. The entire system is automatically cleaned during each regeneration. In the ion exchange process, water is passed over the ion exchange resin. Hardness formers such as calcium and magnesium ions are exchanged for sodium ions. Once the capacity of the first column of the water softener is exhausted, the second column goes into operation. The ion exchange resin of the first column is regenerated with brine at the same time and the hardness constituents are released into the wastewater.
